Siberian Ginseng is a Herb that is native to Siberia, Korea and the Shansi and Hopei Provinces of China. It is also known as Ciwujia, Devil's Bush, Eleuthero, Eleutherococc, Touch-me not, Ussurian Thorny Pepper Bush or Wujiaseng. Siberian Ginseng is not a "true" Ginseng as it is not a species of Panax - there is a strong argument for renaming this Herb to Eleuthero so as to disassociate it from Ginseng - although its beneficial actions to date appear to be similar to those of "true" Ginseng. The botanical name is Eleutherococcus Senticosus, also called Acanthopanax Senticosus. It is part of the Aralia family. Siberian Ginseng is distinguished from "true" Ginsengs in that it does not contain Ginsenosides but does contain other substances unique to Siberian Ginseng - Eleutherosides.
